How is heat calculated?About the list

Heat comes from independent accounts and organizations participating in the same event. Repeated collection counts only once, and it decays with a 24-hour half-life. It measures discussion activity, not reporting quality.

The list covers the past 48 hours. Trends compare only the same set of sources with continuous coverage; they reflect our monitoring scope, not the whole internet. Trend lines are hidden when comparable history is missing.

The source list shows only publicly readable reporting sources; discussion participants also include accounts and organizations counted toward heat only. Multiple channels of the same organization may be merged, so participants are not necessarily more numerous than sources. Click an event to see reporting and viewpoints from each side.
