Sandisk, a longstanding memory and storage manufacturer known for USB flash drives, portable SSDs, and memory cards, including microSD cards for the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, has announced new storage offerings for Meta Quest headsets and the upcoming Meta VR Glasses.
Sandisk describes this as a partnership with Meta and says it will be the "exclusive provider" of next-generation flash storage solutions for Meta VR Glasses when they launch in spring 2027.
The lineup includes microSD Express memory cards and USB-C flash drives, which Sandisk describes as "official Meta-tested" products. The company has not announced specific storage capacities or prices.

Meta's recently announced VR Glasses will ship with 128GB of internal storage and feature an expandable microSD card slot in the compute puck, a first for the company's VR products and a move likely intended to ease rising memory costs.

Alongside this, Meta has been gradually improving support for external storage in Horizon OS. Recent additions include the ability to browse and manage connected drives directly in the system Files app. An "Open With" menu also lets you open files in compatible 2D apps, including the system Media Player for supported media files.
In Horizon OS 2.9 PTC, the Settings app also now recognizes and lists external storage locations alongside the system's internal storage, allowing you to manage data across the device in one place.

Sandisk's new storage offerings will be the latest in a long line of accessories sold under Meta's Made for Meta label. The program allows third parties to build products "authorized by Meta" that meet its quality and compatibility standards. This includes notable hardware accessories such as the Logitech MX Ink.
