C114 News, September 27 (Nanshan) — Hengtong Optic-Electric recently released its "A-Share Private Placement Plan," aiming to raise up to 6.636 billion yuan for projects including a new-generation optical fiber R&D and production project, a high-end optical new materials project in Inner Mongolia, and an AI advanced optical interconnect project.

The placement targets up to 35 specific investors meeting the eligibility requirements of the China Securities Regulatory Commission and the Shanghai Stock Exchange. The pricing reference date is the first day of the issuance period, and the issue price will be no less than 80% of the average trading price of the company's shares over the 20 trading days preceding that date.

Purpose of the placement:

Through projects covering high-end optical materials, new-generation optical fiber and high-density optical cable, the company aims to further strengthen its supply of key materials and its manufacturing capabilities for specialty optical fiber, advancing R&D results in multi-core, hollow-core, polarization-maintaining and ultra-low-loss fiber toward engineering application and stable delivery. The placement will also expand the company's high-density optical cable capacity for data centers, enabling upstream materials, fiber manufacturing and downstream connectivity products to be jointly optimized around customer interfaces and performance requirements.

Amid the evolution of high-speed optical modules and next-generation optical interconnect architectures, the company plans to enhance its capabilities in precision fiber arrays, optoelectronic packaging, prototype fabrication and system testing through projects covering MPO-compatible optical cable production, FAU production and advanced CPO packaging R&D. Once implemented, the projects will enable the company to carry out coordinated design of loss budgets, interfaces, packaging and reliability for different customer architectures, extending the business from supplying individual materials or cables to high-value components and complete solutions.

Through the Jieyang Marine Energy Base, a 10,000-ton-class deep- and far-sea cable-laying vessel, and a high-voltage cable intelligent manufacturing project, the company aims to strengthen its manufacturing footprint for submarine cables and flexible marine products in South China and surrounding markets, add engineering equipment suited to deep- and far-sea projects with large cable loads, and raise the specialized, intelligent manufacturing capabilities of its high-voltage cables. The projects align with the company's existing full marine energy industry chain, high-voltage cable technology, customer resources and global operations system, helping to enhance coordination between product manufacturing and engineering construction and improve autonomy and control over the delivery of major projects.

Among them, the new-generation optical fiber R&D and production project will adapt and upgrade existing plant buildings to build specialty fiber production lines for multi-core fiber, ultra-low-loss multi-core fiber, polarization-maintaining fiber, hollow-core fiber and multimode fiber. Equipment including MCCVD lathes, drawing towers, extension towers, screening machines and testing equipment will be purchased to establish R&D, trial production and mass-production capabilities for specialty fiber. Annual capacity will include 800,000 fiber-km of multi-core fiber, 100,000 fiber-km of ultra-low-loss multi-core fiber, 30,000 fiber-km of polarization-maintaining fiber, 100,000 fiber-km of hollow-core fiber and 2.5 million fiber-km of multimode fiber.
