On October 10, Hangzhou Institute of Optics and Mechanics organized a special training session on "Artificial Intelligence: Past, Present and Future Trends." The training was held both online and on-site, with more than 60 participants, including executives and staff of incubated companies and partners of the Hangzhou Institute of Optics and Mechanics. It was taught by Zhao Dongfeng, Chief Scientist of the Hangzhou Institute of Optics and Mechanics, who traced the evolution of large models and discussed the future development of artificial intelligence technology for all attendees. On-site discussions covered topics such as quantum computing and AI, and vertical-domain models.
The training provided in-depth sharing across three dimensions: the development history, current status and future trends of AI, tracing the early theoretical foundations of artificial intelligence and systematically reviewing the complete evolution from the binary concept and neural network breakthroughs to the emergence of the Transformer architecture and the explosion of large model technology.

Drawing on the development practices of leading companies such as OpenAI and DeepSeek , the course compared and analyzed the different development paths of large models in China and the United States, and explained key technical concepts in detail, including model distillation, model hallucinations and intelligent agents (Agent). Closely aligned with investment and research realities, it focused on analyzing the competitive landscape of the AI industries in China and the United States, and held discussions on frontier topics such as the development prospects of artificial general intelligence (AGI) and the synergistic empowerment of large model training and inference by quantum computing and classical computing. It also examined new changes in industry talent, analyzing the rise of research capabilities and new development models for research laboratories; and shared insights on key directions such as AI for Science research empowerment and the implementation of AI in vertical domains, providing participants with highly valuable perspectives for understanding the essence of artificial intelligence technology and the logic of industrial development.

Next, the Hangzhou Institute of Optics and Mechanics will continue to deepen and strengthen its internal training series, continuously improving the team's ability to assess the iteration of artificial intelligence technology and industrial evolution trends, actively exploring investment layouts and post-investment empowerment pathways in the AI赛道, and empowering high-quality development of industrial investment with strong digital and intelligent investment research capabilities.
