Hangzhou Institute of Optics and Mechanics Incubates Over 60 Optoelectronic 'Hard Tech' Companies in Five Years, Attracting 2.5 Billion Yuan

In the five years since it began operations, the Hangzhou Institute of Optics and Mechanics has incubated more than 60 optoelectronic 'hard tech' companies, over 20 of which have secured follow-on funding, drawing in more than 2.5 billion yuan of external capital in total. Its full-chain 'equipment + funding + talent' model, backed by a modular, standardized service system, helps scientists cross the 'valley of death' in commercializing research results. The incubated companies span fields including atmospheric laser remote sensing, gallium oxide single crystals, and cold atom clocks. The operating model was profiled by Daily Business News and republished and endorsed by several government new media platforms, including that of the Hangzhou municipal government.
